Thirty years ago, SoCal surfers were growing older and needing to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives. I guess they figured that grandpas tend to break their hips when surfing!  A group of these surfers thought maybe they’d start a cookie company named Maui’s Chocolate Chip Cookies…naturally.  But once they burnt their first batch of sweets, they decided to stick to what they love - surf gear.  But, it was not until 2008 when they opened up their surf shop and started the color and flavor for Venice Beach Boardwalk.

Cheryl Johnson the store manager makes sure the experience in store service is what the customer deserves. She has been a part of the Maui and Son’s family for 17 years.
